Job Description

Role Summary: The Merchandising & Planning role at NPCI will be instrumental in strategizing and executing plans for the optimal rollout and adoption of various payment products and services. This position requires a blend of market analysis, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the successful integration and widespread use of NPCI's innovative payment solutions across India.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising and planning strategies for new and existing payment products.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges.
  • Collaborate with product development, marketing, and technology teams to align merchandising plans with product roadmaps and business objectives.
  • Create detailed rollout plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor the performance of payment products and services, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, financial institutions, and government agencies.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate plans, progress, and outcomes to senior management.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) was incorporated as an 'Umbrella Organisation' for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India. It is promoted by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Indian Banks' Association (IBA). NPCI has been incorporated as a Section 8 company (under the Companies Act, 2013) with a view to provide infrastructure to the payment and settlement systems in India. NPCI has successfully launched and operationalized various payment products like RuPay, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC), Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS), Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), etc.
