Job Description
Role Summary:
As a Neonatologist, you will be responsible for providing specialized medical care to newborn infants born prematurely, with birth defects, infections, or other serious health problems. This role is crucial for ensuring the well-being and survival of the most vulnerable patients within our community, contributing to the overall health and wellness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of neonatal conditions, including respiratory distress, infections, congenital anomalies, and prematurity-related complications.
- Provide intensive care to critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as ultrasounds, X-rays, and blood tests.
- Manage ventilation, oxygen therapy, and other life support systems for neonates.
- Collaborate with pediatric surgeons, cardiologists, and other specialists for comprehensive patient care.
- Educate and counsel parents on the care of their newborn, including feeding, growth, and potential long-term health issues.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in neonatology and implement evidence-based practices.
- Participate in on-call duties and emergency consultations as required.
