Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Food Safety Officer with a legal background to ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and standards within our port operations. This role is crucial for maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality for food-related activities and products handled at our facility. The ideal candidate will leverage their legal expertise to interpret and implement food safety laws, manage compliance documentation, and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret national and international food safety regulations, laws, and standards applicable to port operations and logistics.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust food safety policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with legal requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with food safety standards and identify potential risks.
- Investigate food safety incidents, deviations, and customer complaints, providing legal and technical insights for resolution.
- Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation for food safety compliance, including HACCP plans, risk assessments, and audit reports.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and government agencies to ensure adherence to all legal obligations.
- Provide training and guidance to relevant staff on food safety best practices and legal requirements.
- Advise management on legal implications of food safety matters and recommend corrective actions.
- Stay updated on changes in food safety legislation and industry best practices, ensuring continuous improvement.
