Role Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Geographic Information System / GIS professional with 3-4 years of experience to join our team in Pune. The ideal candidate will leverage GIS expertise to support our ongoing projects in sustainable development, environmental monitoring, and resource management. This role requires a unique blend of technical GIS skills and a strong understanding of legal and policy frameworks, particularly relevant to environmental and resource law, given the requirement for an LLB degree.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and analyze spatial data using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for various research and project needs.
- Create thematic maps, spatial models, and visualizations to communicate project findings and insights.
- Conduct spatial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and relationships relevant to environmental issues, resource allocation, and policy impacts.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate GIS data and analysis into project planning and implementation.
- Assist in the interpretation of environmental regulations, land use policies, and legal documents, applying this understanding to GIS projects.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Contribute to the development of GIS-based tools and platforms for data collection, management, and dissemination.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in GIS technology and their applications in the development sector.
- Support legal and policy research related to environmental and resource management through spatial analysis.
