Phlebotomist

Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare services team. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for accurately collecting blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing, transfusions, donations, and research purposes. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols and maintaining a sterile environment. The Phlebotomist will interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and laboratory staff, ensuring a high standard of patient care and sample integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages.
- Verify patient identification and explain the blood collection procedure to patients.
- Prepare patients for blood collection, including selecting appropriate equipment and supplies.
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and infection control policies.
- Label all collected specimens accurately and promptly.
- Transport specimens to the laboratory or designated collection points.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazardous waste.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during or after blood collection.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety and compliance guidelines.
