Job Description
Role Summary: The Reefer Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of refrigerated transportation units (reefers) used for the storage and transit of perishable FMCG products. This role is crucial to ensuring product quality and supply chain integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the reefer fleet.
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on refrigeration units.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system failures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to reefer operations.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for reefer maintenance.
- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to optimize reefer utilization and minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and operational data.
- Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in reefer and cold chain management.
