Seeking Chief Purchase Officer / Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) (2-4 Yrs) for Indian Railways

Role Summary: We are looking for a motivated Chief Purchase Officer / Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) with 2-4 years of experience and an M.Des degree to join our dynamic team at Indian Railways in Bhubaneshwar. This role is crucial for optimizing our procurement processes and ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services essential for railway operations. The ideal candidate will bring a fresh perspective to procurement, leveraging their design thinking and analytical skills to drive value and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for various railway components, materials, and services, aligning with organizational goals.

Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost structures to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure competitive pricing.

Manage supplier relationships, including negotiation of contracts, performance monitoring, and fostering strong partnerships.

Utilize design thinking principles to identify innovative solutions for procurement challenges, focusing on value engineering and material optimization.

Ensure compliance with all procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements specific to the Indian Railways.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance) to understand their procurement needs and provide timely support.

Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier contracts.

Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and market intelligence to senior management.
