Role Summary: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Merchandiser with 3-4 years of experience and an LLB degree to join our corporate team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the flow of goods and documentation within our port and shipping operations, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes, contract management, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the maritime industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and legal departments, to ensure smooth cargo movement and documentation processing.
Review and manage contracts, agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
Oversee the merchandising process, including order tracking, inventory management (where applicable), and shipment coordination, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to schedules.
Ensure all shipments comply with local and international regulations, including customs, import/export laws, and safety standards. Provide legal interpretations and guidance as needed.
Prepare and analyze reports on merchandising activities, performance metrics, and potential legal or operational risks.
Assist in resolving disputes and claims related to cargo, contracts, or operational issues, leveraging legal knowledge.
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs within the merchandising and logistics functions.
