Role Overview:
Tata Motors is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Senior Vice President of Automotive Engineering to lead our global engineering efforts. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in automotive product development, innovation, and operational excellence. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of mobility at Tata Motors, driving technological advancements, and ensuring the delivery of world-class vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all automotive engineering functions, including R&D, design, testing, and validation.
- Drive innovation and the development of next-generation automotive technologies, including electric vehicles, autonomous driving, and connected car solutions.
- Oversee the product development lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and timeline targets.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across global engineering teams.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of engineering leaders and professionals.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments, including manufacturing, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Represent the company's engineering capabilities to stakeholders, industry partners, and regulatory bodies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees (Ph.D.) are a plus.
- 20-25 years of progressive experience in the automotive industry, with a significant portion in leadership roles.
- Proven track record of successfully leading complex automotive engineering projects and product launches.
- Deep understanding of current and future automotive technologies, trends, and regulatory landscapes.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing large engineering budgets.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
