Ship Safety Officer

Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Ship Safety Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures onboard vessels and at associated work sites. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe working environment, preventing accidents, and promoting a strong safety culture within our maritime operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety management systems (SMS) in accordance with international and national maritime regulations (e.g., ISM Code, SOLAS).
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments of vessels, cargo operations, and shore-based facilities.
- Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental protection regulations and promote sustainable practices.
- Deliver safety training and awareness programs to crew members and site personnel.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, port authorities, and classification societies on safety-related matters.
- Manage emergency response plans and conduct drills.
- Advise management on all aspects of maritime safety and health.
- Stay updated with the latest safety standards, technologies, and best practices in the maritime industry.
