Ship Safety Officer

Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Ship Safety Officer to join our growing team. The Ship Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and security across our fleet of vessels operating within urban waterways. This role is critical in maintaining operational integrity, complying with all relevant maritime regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture among crew and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety management systems (SMS) for all vessels.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments of vessels, equipment, and operational procedures.
- Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all national and international maritime safety regulations, including SOLAS, ISM Code, and local port authority rules.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for all crew members.
- Manage emergency preparedness and response plans, including drills and exercises.
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
- Advise management on safety-related issues and recommend improvements.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment onboard.
- Foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
