Ship Safety Officer

Role Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Ship Safety Officer to join our growing team in Kolkata. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance for our maritime operations, particularly concerning the transportation of sensitive biotechnology products. The ideal candidate will leverage their MBA/PGDM knowledge to implement and manage robust safety protocols, risk assessments, and emergency response plans.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety management systems for all vessel operations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with national and international maritime safety regulations.
- Investigate all safety incidents, near misses, and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Oversee the training of crew members on safety procedures, emergency response, and the handling of hazardous materials.
- Ensure all safety equipment is maintained, inspected, and readily available.
- Manage and update safety documentation, including safety manuals, emergency plans, and incident logs.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, port authorities, and other stakeholders on safety-related matters.
- Analyze safety data to identify trends and implement proactive measures to prevent future incidents.
- Contribute to the development of business strategies related to operational safety and risk mitigation, leveraging MBA/PGDM insights.
