Ship Safety Officer

Role Summary:
The Ship Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures within the shipbuilding and repair operations. This role is critical in maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel and preventing accidents and occupational hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety management systems and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the shipyard, vessels, and workshops.
• Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international maritime safety regulations (e.g., SOLAS, ISM Code).
• Organize and conduct safety training programs for all employees, including emergency preparedness drills.
• Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
• Advise management on safety-related matters and promote a strong safety culture.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
