Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to manage and optimize our shipping and maritime operations within the petrochemical and plastics logistics chain. This role will be crucial in ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of raw materials and finished products via sea and other maritime channels, supporting our extensive manufacturing and distribution network across India and globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the company's maritime logistics, focusing on bulk liquid and solid cargo.
- Oversee the chartering, operation, and management of vessels, ensuring compliance with all international and national maritime regulations.
- Manage relationships with shipping lines, port authorities, freight forwarders, and other maritime service providers.
- Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service level agreements to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Monitor vessel performance, cargo handling, and transit times, identifying and resolving any operational issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in all maritime operations.
- Coordinate with internal teams (procurement, production, sales, supply chain) to align shipping schedules with business needs.
- Analyze market trends and propose innovative solutions to enhance supply chain resilience and efficiency.
- Manage insurance claims and other maritime-related documentation and legal aspects.
- Provide regular reports on shipping performance, costs, and market intelligence to senior management.
