Job Description

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Somnologist to join our Occupational Health department. The Somnologist will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of sleep disorders among our employees, particularly those involved in safety-critical roles within our engineering and construction projects. This role is crucial in ensuring the well-being and optimal performance of our workforce, thereby contributing to project safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with sleep-related disorders, including medical history, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic test results.
  2. Interpret polysomnography (PSG), actigraphy, and other sleep study data to diagnose conditions such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and parasomnias.
  3. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
  4. Provide patient education on sleep hygiene, lifestyle modifications, and adherence to treatment protocols.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure integrated patient care.
  6. Stay updated with the latest advancements in sleep medicine and incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical care.
  7. Participate in occupational health programs, including pre-employment screenings and fitness-for-duty evaluations, with a focus on sleep-related risks.
  8. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to employee sleep health and safety.
