Job Description
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and analytical Subject Matter Expert with a strong background in legal and compliance frameworks relevant to the gems and jewellery industry. The ideal candidate will possess a Master of Laws (LLM) degree and 3-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a corporate legal or compliance department. You will be instrumental in providing expert guidance, ensuring adherence to regulations, and contributing to the strategic development of our legal and compliance initiatives in Kochi.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements specific to the Indian gems and jewellery sector, including import/export laws, consumer protection, and intellectual property.
- Provide expert legal advice and strategic recommendations to various business units on compliance matters.
- Develop and review company policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment with current legislation and industry best practices.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal opinions, memos, and contract clauses.
- Assist in risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to legal and compliance issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, operations, and product development teams.
- Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations and advise on their impact on the business.
- Support the training and development of staff on legal and compliance topics.
