Job Description
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Textile Designer with 3-4 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will leverage their unique background, including a B.Pharma degree, to innovate in automotive textile applications. This role is crucial in developing aesthetically pleasing, functional, and high-performance interior textiles for our vehicles, contributing to brand identity and customer comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to conceptualize and develop new automotive interior textile materials and patterns.
Translate design concepts into technical specifications for textile production, considering material properties, durability, and manufacturing feasibility.
Apply knowledge of material science and chemical properties (potentially leveraging B.Pharma background) to evaluate and select appropriate textiles for automotive applications, focusing on aspects like flame retardancy, UV resistance, and occupant safety.
Develop color palettes, material samples, and mood boards that align with brand aesthetics and market trends.
Conduct research on emerging textile technologies, sustainable materials, and innovative weaving/knitting techniques relevant to the automotive industry.
Oversee the prototyping and testing phases of textile development, ensuring compliance with industry standards and performance requirements.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality control and timely delivery of textile materials.
Prepare design presentations and documentation for internal stakeholders.
