Third Officer / Mate - Import & Export Sector (3-5 Yrs)

Role Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and legally astute Third Officer / Mate with 3-5 years of experience in the import & export domain. The ideal candidate will possess an LLM degree and a thorough understanding of maritime law, international trade regulations, and vessel operations. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance, safety, and efficient management of cargo and vessel activities within our import & export operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage all aspects of vessel operations, cargo handling, and stowage in compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures on board.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation related to vessel movements, cargo, and crew.
- Liaise with port authorities, customs officials, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth port calls and cargo clearance.
- Interpret and apply maritime laws, conventions (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL), and trade agreements in daily operations.
- Assist the Chief Officer and Master in navigation, watchkeeping, and overall vessel management.
- Conduct legal research and provide guidance on maritime legal matters, contractual obligations, and dispute resolution.
- Manage crew duties and responsibilities, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.
- Handle any emergent issues related to vessel operations, cargo integrity, or legal compliance.
