Job Description
Role Summary: The Tool Room Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of tools and equipment used in manufacturing and production processes within the IT services and consulting environment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, precision machining, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and fabricate custom tools, jigs, fixtures, and dies for specialized manufacturing needs.
- Perform precision machining operations using CNC and manual machinery (lathes, milling machines, grinders).
- Maintain and repair existing tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand tooling requirements and provide solutions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures and implement corrective actions.
- Manage tool inventory, including ordering materials and tracking tool usage.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards in the tool room.
- Stay updated with advancements in tooling technology and manufacturing processes.
