Job Description
Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Transport Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of our transportation and logistics operations within India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods from our manufacturing units to distribution centers and ultimately to our customers, supporting our extensive FMCG supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to align with business objectives and supply chain requirements.
- Manage a fleet of vehicles, including maintenance, scheduling, and driver management.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and carriers.
- Monitor and analyze transportation costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and legal requirements in India.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) for planning, execution, and tracking of shipments.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, sales, warehousing) to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other logistics partners.
- Manage and resolve any transportation-related issues or disruptions promptly.
