Underwriter

Role Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Underwriter to join our finance team. The Underwriter will be responsible for assessing the financial risks associated with new and existing projects within the water treatment and waste management sectors. This role requires a deep understanding of financial principles, risk assessment methodologies, and the specific nuances of the infrastructure and environmental services industry in India.

Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the financial viability and risk profile of potential projects, including detailed analysis of financial statements, cash flows, and projections.
- Conduct due diligence on project sponsors, contractors, and off-takers to assess their creditworthiness and operational capabilities.
- Develop and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies and structures for project financing.
- Prepare comprehensive underwriting reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management and credit committees.
- Monitor the performance of existing project exposures and identify any emerging risks.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with business development, legal, and technical teams to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on project terms.
- Stay abreast of market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes impacting the water and waste management sector in India.
