Underwriter

Role Summary: The Underwriter will be responsible for assessing and evaluating the risk associated with travel insurance policies offered by MakeMyTrip. This role involves analyzing policy applications, determining eligibility, and setting appropriate premium rates to ensure profitability and manage financial exposure for the company.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze travel insurance policy applications to assess risk factors such as traveler demographics, destination, trip duration, and pre-existing medical conditions.
- Determine the insurability of applicants based on established underwriting guidelines and risk assessment criteria.
- Calculate and quote appropriate premium rates, considering the assessed risk and market competitiveness.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to provide clear explanations of policy terms, conditions, and coverage.
- Monitor and analyze claims data to identify trends and inform underwriting strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and company policies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance partners and reinsurers.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting tools and processes.
