Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Underwriter with 3-4 years of experience, ideally holding a Master of Design (M.Des) degree, to join our team in Pune. The Underwriter will play a crucial role in assessing and managing risks associated with our electronic components and semiconductor products. This position requires a unique blend of technical understanding, design sensibility, and financial acumen to evaluate potential risks and ensure profitable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze technical specifications, design documentation, and performance data of new and existing electronic components and semiconductor products.
- Assess the risk profile of products, considering factors such as market trends, technological obsolescence, manufacturing processes, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and sales teams to gather necessary information and understand product lifecycles and potential liabilities.
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines and criteria specific to the electronic components and semiconductor industry.
- Evaluate potential financial impacts of product risks, including warranty claims, product recalls, and market acceptance.
- Prepare detailed underwriting reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Stay abreast of industry regulations, technological advancements, and emerging risks within the semiconductor sector.
- Utilize design thinking principles to identify potential failure modes and assess user impact from a design perspective.
