Job Description

Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Welding Inspector / Supervisor to join our team at Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all welding activities meet specified quality standards, codes, and procedures, particularly in the construction, maintenance, and repair of port infrastructure and equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge of welding processes, materials, and inspection techniques, along with excellent supervisory skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and supervise all welding operations within the port facilities, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and project timelines.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welds and welding procedures to identify defects and ensure compliance with relevant codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) such as Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Radiography Testing (RT) as required, or supervise NDT technicians.
  • Review welding procedures (WPS) and welder performance qualifications (WPQ) to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to resolve welding-related issues.
  • Ensure proper material traceability and certification for all welding consumables.
  • Provide guidance and training to welders and junior inspectors.
  • Monitor and control the quality of welding consumables and equipment.
