Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and research-oriented individual with a Doctorate/PhD to join our Environment Health and Safety (EHS) team as an EHS Specialist (Other). This entry-level position is ideal for a recent PhD graduate looking to apply advanced scientific knowledge to real-world EHS challenges within the import & export sector. The role will involve supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct research and analysis on emerging EHS risks and best practices relevant to import/export operations, particularly concerning hazardous materials handling and international shipping regulations.
- Assist in the development and review of EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with national and international standards.
- Support the implementation of EHS management systems and initiatives, including risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency preparedness plans.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a strong EHS culture and provide technical guidance on EHS matters.
- Stay updated on relevant environmental, health, and safety legislation and industry trends impacting the import/export industry.
- Contribute to EHS training programs and awareness campaigns for employees and contractors.
- Perform literature reviews and data analysis to support EHS research projects and policy development.
