Role Summary:
We are seeking a visionary and experienced UX Head to lead our user experience strategy and execution within the Defence & Aerospace sector. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, user advocacy, and a strong understanding of complex systems, ideally informed by a background in commerce and finance. You will be responsible for shaping the user-centric design of our cutting-edge defence and aerospace products and platforms, ensuring intuitive, efficient, and impactful user interactions. This is a leadership position for someone with 5 to 5 years of progressive experience in UX/UI design and strategy, holding a Master of Commerce (M.Com) degree.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and champion a comprehensive UX vision and strategy aligned with business objectives and user needs in the defence and aerospace domain.
- Lead and mentor a team of UX/UI designers, researchers, and strategists, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture.
- Conduct in-depth user research, including contextual inquiries, interviews, and surveys, to understand the needs and challenges of defence and aerospace personnel.
- Translate complex user requirements and business needs into intuitive and effective user interface designs, wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
- Oversee the design and implementation of user-centric solutions for complex systems, considering factors like usability, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and stakeholder teams to ensure seamless integration of UX principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Define and maintain UX standards, guidelines, and best practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all products.
- Leverage your M.Com background to understand the financial implications of design decisions and contribute to business case development for UX initiatives.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in UX design, human-computer interaction, and the defence/aerospace industry.
- Measure and iterate on UX designs based on user feedback, analytics, and performance metrics.
