Food Safety Officer

Role Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Food Safety Officer to join our team in Vijayawada. The ideal candidate will leverage their M.Com background and understanding of regulatory compliance to ensure the highest standards of food safety across our operations, particularly in relation to our textile and apparel industry supply chain where food is handled or consumed by employees. This role requires a strong analytical approach to manage quality control, audits, and compliance with national and international food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust food safety management systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) within the company's food-handling areas.
- Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety standards and identify potential risks.
- Monitor and analyze financial and operational data related to food safety expenditures, waste, and efficiency. Utilize M.Com knowledge to propose cost-effective solutions.
- Manage supplier audits and ensure that all food-related suppliers meet stringent safety and quality requirements.
- Investigate food safety incidents, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Train employees on food safety best practices, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest food safety regulations, legislation, and industry trends in India.
- Prepare and present reports on food safety performance, audit findings, and compliance status to senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and quality assurance, to integrate food safety into all relevant business processes.
- Manage documentation and record-keeping for all food safety related activities.
