About Himalaya Drug Company

The Himalaya Drug Company was founded in 1930 by Mr. M. Manal with a vision to bring the science of Ayurveda to society in a contemporary form and as a legacy to be built on research and modern scientific methodologies. He was inspired by the unique benefits of the Rauwolfia serpentina (Sarpagandha) plant, which was known to lower blood pressure. This led to the launch of the world's first natural antihypertensive drug, Reserpine.

Himalaya has since been a pioneer in herbal healthcare and personal care products, committed to providing safe, effective, and natural solutions for millions of people worldwide. While the company has a strong presence in pharmaceuticals, it has also diversified into personal care, baby care, and wellness products, all rooted in Ayurvedic principles and backed by scientific research.
