Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Manage inventory of ingredients, supplies, and equipment, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing wastage.
- Monitor food costs and contribute to budget management within the culinary department.
- Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen as per regulatory guidelines.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Participate in menu planning and costing, considering budget constraints and profitability.
- Ensure efficient ordering and receiving of supplies, verifying quantities and quality.
- Prepare and cook a range of dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Conduct regular stock takes and contribute to financial reporting related to kitchen expenses.
